From Gaming to Competing
Hello all,
We've recently released Ballland: World version x.4609, which adds new official stages and removes the bugs that allow online play to shine. Now, players are able to join matches from around the world, spectate them from a distance, request friends and join their matches, make their own matches with custom rules including CPU presence and difficulty.
We're able to play in advanced pro rooms online, where people can join if they wish and prove their skills as shown here:
There is a competition going on right now called Battle Bash 1 (accepting new players) which will be a regular tournament held by the OGE project in our community.Link to the post here: [Announcement] Battle Bash I Tournament
These tournaments are recorded and potentially broadcasted on the HALLC Youtube and Rumble channels. Players compete and are able to win prizes such as a free VIP membership on our community, and when the currency update rolls around, they'll get coins to use on upgrades and supporting their clan.
We're taking a high-level look at everything and where we're at. The major priorities are:
- Update x.5000 which completes half of the official stages. We're able to take a route here and complete all of the official stages for a 0.00.200.0000 type upgrade, and then we'll be able to focus more on the further features.
- Adding the currency feature, such that each account has a number of coins and can be rewarded more based on performance or transferred between players. There is an added ability here to earn coins passively based on the performance of clan members in-battle online. These coins will be used for unlockables and boosts such as potions for enhanced battle performance, new characters, new level objects, new stages, and more. We explored the idea as well of players "selling" their stages and levels in the marketplace. There'd need to be an escrow function embedded within the app or using a third party to make that work.
- Fixing bugs such as the misplaced-tiles bug, the online-item-removal bug, and general cosmetic improvements to the UI. We want to establish a dedicated bug tracker for the game, so that players can stay informed on the progress of fixing bugs.
- Managing regular tournaments. While clans are able to host and schedule their own events, community-wide tournaments are the job of dedicated Event Managers such as our very own Official Game Events personnel. These are built in a way to be modularly handled so that events can continue to run regularly and players can be entertained.
- Overall outreach. We seek partnerships with other brands to ensure that more players involve themselves with our game, so that people can have loads of fun and make connections. I remember when I played MarioKart Wii and joined their community. We were able to form relationships that I think about to this day, over a decade later. I want that with Ballland: World, and it's just the case that the gameplay is highly similar, except one can create their own levels and share them online. Further things are coming, such as special items, custom abilities, and the single-player online mode which will also be a lot of fun.
If you're interested in following our updates, go ahead and follow us. Interested in us as a community? Join us over at the forum and our discord and introduce yourself. You'll find the game launcher there. We'd love to see you prove yourself and gain one of our prized roles such as "Level Builder" or "Clan Leader."
